Crispy, golden Hungarian potato pancakes that are simple, comforting, and incredibly delicious.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp sweet Hungarian paprika (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Grate the potatoes and squeeze out excess liquid using a clean towel.
  2. Place potatoes in a bowl with onion and garlic.
  3. Add eggs, flour, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Spoon portions of the mixture into the pan and flatten slightly.
  6. Fry for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
