Rolled Potato Dumplings (Krumpli Nudli)

Ingredients:

  • 500 g potatoes (peeled)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (approx.)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 pinch salt

For coating:

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2–3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions:

  1. Boil potatoes until soft, mash, and let cool.
  2. Mix mashed potatoes with egg, butter, salt, and flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Roll dough on a floured surface into long ropes.
  4. Cut into small pieces and roll into finger-shaped dumplings.
  5. Bring salted water to a boil and cook until dumplings float (about 3–4 minutes).
  6. In a pan, melt butter, add breadcrumbs, and toast until golden; mix in sugar.
  7. Toss cooked dumplings in the breadcrumb mixture.

Serve warm with extra sugar or jam if desired.
