  • 500 g flour
  • 25 g fresh yeast or 7 g dry yeast
  • 250 ml warm milk
  • 80 g sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 80 g melted butter
  • Pinch of salt

Filling:

  • 400 g cottage cheese (túró)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2–3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • Lemon zest (optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp semolina or breadcrumbs (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a little sugar.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, salt, egg yolks, butter, and yeast mixture into a soft dough.
  3. Let rise for about 1 hour.
  4. Mix filling ingredients until creamy.
  5. Roll out dough and cut into squares.
  6. Place filling in the center and fold into small “bags” (batyu).
  7. Let rest for 15–20 minutes.
  8. Bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  9. Optional: dust with powdered sugar before serving.
