🧾 Ingredients:

🔸 Sponge Cake:

  • 6 eggs
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

🔸 Chocolate Sponge (optional layer):

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

🔸 Vanilla Custard:

  • 500 ml milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour or cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

🔸 Walnut Syrup:

  • 100 g ground walnuts
  • 100 ml water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp rum (optional)

🔸 Chocolate Sauce:

  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 100 ml cream or milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar

🔸 Topping:

  • Whipped cream
  • Raisins (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare sponge cakes: beat eggs with sugar until fluffy, fold in flour (and cocoa for chocolate layer), bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15–20 minutes. Let cool and cut into cubes.
  2. Make custard: heat milk. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, and flour, then combine with milk and cook until thick. Add vanilla and cool.
  3. Prepare walnut syrup: simmer walnuts, water, sugar, and rum for a few minutes.
  4. Make chocolate sauce: melt chocolate with cream and sugar until smooth.
  5. Assemble: layer sponge cake pieces, drizzle with walnut syrup, spread custard, and repeat layers.
  6. Chill in fridge for at least 2 hours.
  7. Serve by scooping portions, topping with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
