Hungarian Quark Cheese Dumplings (Túrógombóc) 🇭🇺

Ingredients

  • 500 g quark (curd cheese)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup semolina
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar (optional)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Mix quark, eggs, semolina, sugar, salt, and vanilla.
  2. Chill for 30–60 minutes.
  3. Form small balls.
  4. Boil in salted water until they float (about 5–7 minutes).
  5. Melt butter, toast breadcrumbs until golden.
  6. Roll dumplings in breadcrumbs.
