Hungarian Kiffle Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 250 g butter (cold, cubed)
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 pinch salt

Fillings:

  • Apricot jam
  • Ground walnuts mixed with sugar
  • Poppy seed filling
  • Prune or plum jam

For topping:

  • Powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Mix flour, butter, cream cheese, egg yolks, and salt into a smooth dough.
  2. Wrap and chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  3. Roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface.
  4. Cut into small squares.
  5. Place a small amount of filling in the center of each square.
  6. Fold corners over or roll into crescent shapes.
  7. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  8. Bake at 180°C for 15–20 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Cool completely and dust generously with powdered sugar
