  • 500 g flour
  • 150 g honey
  • 150 g sugar
  • 100 g butter or lard
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 150 g ground walnuts
  • Pinch of salt

Cream filling:

  • 500 ml milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 120 g sugar
  • 40 g flour or cornstarch
  • 200 g butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar

Instructions:

  1. Heat honey, sugar, and butter until melted, then let cool slightly.
  2. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, and walnuts.
  3. Add egg and honey mixture, then knead into dough.
  4. Divide dough into 2–3 parts and bake thin layers at 180°C until golden.
  5. Cook milk, egg yolks, sugar, and flour into a thick cream.
  6. Let cream cool, then mix with butter and vanilla.
  7. Spread cream between layers.
  8. Stack and press lightly.
  9. Chill overnight for best taste, then slice.
