Chocolate Loaf Cake

A soft, rich, and moist chocolate cake baked in a loaf pan—perfect for coffee time or a quick dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g sugar
  • 120 ml milk
  • 100 ml vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 180 g all-purpose flour
  • 40 g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until light and slightly fluffy.
  3. Add milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Mix until smooth (don’t overmix).
  6. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour into loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  9. Let cool before slicing.
