
🧾 Ingredients:
- 500 g green or yellow string beans (cut into pieces)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 liter water or vegetable/chicken broth
- 1–2 tbsp fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried dill)
- 150 ml sour cream
- 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)

👩🍳 Instructions:
- Cook the beans:
Place string beans in a pot with water or broth. Add a pinch of salt and cook for about 15–20 minutes until tender.
- Prepare base:
In a separate pan, heat oil or butter and sauté onion until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly. - Remove from heat and stir in paprika, then add flour and mix well.
- Combine:
Slowly add some of the hot bean cooking liquid to the onion mixture, stirring until smooth. - Pour this back into the pot with the beans.
- Season & finish:
Add dill, salt, pepper, and a little sugar if desired. - Stir in sour cream and simmer gently for a few minutes (do not boil).
- Add vinegar or lemon juice for a slightly tangy flavor.
